TANAAC Overview

Teterboro Airport Noise Abatement Advisory Commitee was formed as a community group on February 26, 1987. It was established after a series of public meetings in South Bergen County to address noise generated by jet aircraft departing and arriving into Teterboro Airport, especially at night.

The main purpose of the committee is to establish a meaningful dialogue between the airport community and the residential communities.

The primary goal was to enhance the quality of life of the residents of the local communities while ensuring the efficient operation of the airport.
TANAAC is Comprised of:

Local Elected Officials (within a five-mile radius of the airport)

Mayors (or a duly appointed alternate), State Assembly and Senate Members, Members of Congress.

Bergen County Executive and Board of Commissioners Chairperson.

Members of the Aviation Community.

Airport Manager.
-
FAA Tower Manager.
-
Fixed Base Operations and Heave of Corporate Flight Departments.

One vote per member. The Airport Manager only votes in the case of a tie.
